Incredible Easter Egg Mosaic

While I was in Ukraine I had the opportunity to see an incredible work of holiday and festive art. The pictures can tell the story better than I can, so here you go:

The wall was approximately 12 feet high (4 meters)

Yes my friends, the entire mosaic was created out of colored and ornamental Easter Eggs.

The Clergy… Part II

So I had a chance to head back to the monastery on my way to go pay homage to Big Mama (Mother Motherland or whatever they call it.) I got the nerve up to just go ask one of the priests if I could take his picture, well he gathered all his friends up, we got a quick group shot, and then I took a quick snap of each guy individually. I gave him a card, and now we are friends on Facebook! hehe.

This last guy is the one I asked and who is now my friend on Facebook, but since I can’t read his name, I will have to wait until I get home and ask my wife to read it for me. (I married such a brilliant woman!)

The Clergy

I got to visit a few of the beautiful orthodox churches in Kiev, Ukraine this morning (Don’t worry, that post is coming.) and I was in awe at the comings and goings of the clergy members in the area, how they interacted with the general public, and also how they interacted amongst other priests.

There was a lot of coming and going through various buildings and doors in one particular area.

I am not familiar with this particular sect of Orthodox belief, but if you would like to see more photos feel free to check out the entire set on flickr. I will write more about what I saw and my impressions later – stay tuned!

I snapped these from the front seat of the taxi with my iPhone as we were heading into Kiev from the airport.

Anyone know the name of the bridge?
