I had every intention of heading up into the mountains this morning – there is a little side cut up Payson Canyon, just east of Maple Dale that grabbed my attention last time I was up there with the kids and I wanted to take it as far up the mountain as I could – I got everything ready, my pack, water, clifbars etc. and then couldn’t find my boots. I looked all over – there is snow up the canyon now – and I wasn’t going to head up in my trail running shoes – so – I pulled out my D40 and went and took pictures of the sunrise and some cows instead.

The moral of this story? Get your crap packed up the night before – or when all else fails, take out your camera and shoot.
Now I need to go find my boots!
