Scipio is this little forgotten town off I-15 that I had the pleasure of driving through on our way to Capitol Reef this morning.
I could spend years driving through small Utah towns looking for old signs, stations, and americana that make this such a wonderful place to live. More photos tomorrow about our day at Capitol Reef National Park!
If you go 5 miles west of Scipio (straight over the mountain), you run into my lovely hometown of Oak City (a “suburb” of Delta). It’s even smaller than Sky-poo.
Delta has suburbs?!
Hehe…My wife is from Santaquin.
If you like small towns, you should check out where we live…Eureka. If your wife is from Santaquin, she has probably heard of it, we’re about 25 miles west of Santaquin. Population 800 or so. Good times, I tell ya!!
I love these! I’m such a sucker for those rickety buildings and rusty signs in small towns. They really beg to be photographed.
Hey Heather – yea I know Eureka rather well – I had a friend who used to live out there (he now lives in Springville) and I have taken my kids out numerous times to go play in the old mines and stuff. Very cool town.
I couldn’t agree with you more Victoria – I will be posting more in the new few days.
Thanks!
