I'd had one semester of photo 101 learning photography and bought a Canon 5D to take with me on a trip... and then didn't pick it back up after the trip, sold it a few months later. Glad I finally got back into it.) I'm a little jealous that you got to roam around SLR in hand in Japan. I served a mission in Korea right before digital cameras started to be available to the mainstream (98-2000) and I would have *loved* one then. Haven't been back since... I am glad to hear your husband picked up the camera again - For right now I am just having fun and learning... but I am going to start to pick up a few commercial jobs here and there, but mainly just so I can upgrade my gear and buy more lenses! My husband tried to turn his photography into a wedding and portrait business several years ago. Result: he put the camera down and didn't pick it up for a few years. But now he's found his love of it again and is out all the time capturing beauty. But weddings and portraits? I doubt he'll ever try that again. So I’m curious.
