Old Town Kosice
I love Europe. I love exploring old European towns with my camera.
Kosice has a great “old town” area or main street with beautiful cobblestone streets and plenty of historic buildings to point your camera towards.
This is the State Theatre.
There are at least 3 or 4 old churches and cathedrals on the main strip, the biggest [...]
Green with envy
OK, so not every building in Slovakia is a shade of yellow. This one, built for some dude name Jakob, he liked green. I agree with him.
Color me in monochrome
OK, I guess color has its purpose… but that still doesn’t change the fact that whenever I pull up the camera to my eye, how the photo will look in black and white is the first and usually last thing that flops around like a fat guy falling down a spiral staircase.
So you decide. Here [...]
Ok, so color isn’t that bad…
Ok, so maybe color isn’t that bad… but I am still concerned and somewhat amazed at this country’s deep affection (addiction) toward the color yellow. I have many more examples, but I am too tired and I have to be up early so look for installment two tomorrow.

Almost Easter Snow
So it snowed on us yesterday. It started out only raining, and while friends on twitter were talking about snowballs falling from the sky in Salt Lake and other areas in Utah… it was just a slight drizzle down in Spanish Fork.

flashback
I am going back through some of the photos I took while in Japan back in 2007. My wife gave me my Christmas present early that year – a Nikon D40 – and I couldn’t put it down.
It is fun to see how far I have come in terms of my knowledge of overall photographic [...]

some people are just so curious and wanting to explore.
and some people are all [...]

We had a blast on the trampoline today at the Photowalking Utah Studio Lighting event in Draper, Utah. Thank you to everyone who participated!
My Honey
Jen needed some new photos as she gets ready to dive into her new career in Real Estate – so we went into my office and opened the shutters to let in some natural light on the right side and then grabbed a reflector to use as fill.
It is easy making nice pictures when your [...]
lets go ahead and let the cat out of the bag…
I think most of his cards have gone out by now – so I am going to post some of my favorites of my recent photo shoot with my awesome brother Zane Francis.

waking up with the cows
I had every intention of heading up into the mountains this morning – there is a little side cut up Payson Canyon, just east of Maple Dale that grabbed my attention last time I was up there with the kids and I wanted to take it as far up the mountain as I could – [...]
